A Live Webcast Auction is an auction that is capable of streaming live audio and video to internet bidders allowing them to place bids simultaneously as the live auction takes place. Internet bidders are given the opportunity to bid remotely against their peers who are bidding on the same items on-site at the auction. The auctioneer has the ability to accept bids live from the internet and on-site bidders during the live auction. Internet bidders get the full on-site bidding experience from the comfort of their home or office.
First make sure that you have registered a bidder account. Once you are registered, place a "Request to Bid" for the specific sale in which you would like to bid. After your bid request has been approved you can start bidding once the auction is open.
The auction listing page will have the exact time and date listed for when each auction opens. An auction is open for bidding when WEBCAST OPEN is displayed within the sale listing. The Auction will open an hour prior to the start time listed. Therefore, if the auction is set to open Saturday at 9:30 AM EDT, then the Live Webcast will open to online bidders on Saturday at 8:30AM EDT.
Once the sale opens, you will see a button that reads "Enter Auction". Click on this link and the Webcast will automatically load. If you run into any issues while logging in, contact technical support at (919) 595-2907.
The left hand portion of the screen shows what lot is currently up for bidding. It will display full lot title and lot description for the current lot. The middle section will display the video of the auction if it is available. It will also have a place where you could stop the audio and/ or video if you desire to do so. You will also see the bid button in the middle of the page. It will say either Waiting for Bidding to Start if they have not started bidding on the current lot, or Current Bid: USD $XXXX. To the right of the page, you will see the full catalog available for viewing. Below the catalog is the online chat box where you can communicate with the online bidding clerk that is onsite.
The audio and video is streamed in real time from the Live Auction site to the internet. The current lot that is on the webcast screen is the same lot on the auction block. Please note that it is best to not rely on the video and to go off of what lot is currently showed as “Now Bidding”. Whatever number listed within the bid button is what the auctioneer is currently asking for. The increments are in sync with the auctioneer. If you want to bid, simply click on the "Bid" button. The auctioneer will see your bid come across the screen and continue the auction with your bid now placed as the current bid amount.

With Bidder's Choice, the auctioneer will offer you as the winning bidder your choice of one or more lots at the winning bid price. When the round of Bidder's Choice starts, the auctioneer will announce from the block that Bidder's Choice is being offered and you will see the items that you have choices of on the right side of your screen. You can scroll through the items to view your options. Then, you will bid against the other online and on-site bidders to see who wins the items. If you are the winning bidder, you see a message that says “"Congratulations you are the high bidder. Please make your selections:" You will also receive a chat message that says "Congratulations! How many lots do you want? Please make your choice." There will be checkboxes next to each lot that you have the choice to buy. To purchase, just click the checkbox above each item that you wish to purchase. Then, click submit to send your selections to the auctioneer.
The chat module is located in the lower right section of the bidder interface. If you would like to ask the auctioneer questions, type a message in the small field provided and hit the "Chat" button. Your message will now be displayed in the Chat Box above the chat field. Inbound messages from the auctioneer will also be displayed in the Chat Box.
If you would like to view a preliminary list of items that you have purchased, click on the "My Purchases" button located in the upper right-hand corner. Any items displayed in this window are items that you are believed to have won. However, the Auction Company MUST CONFIRM these purchases. At the end of the auction, you will receive an invoice from the Auction Company containing a final list of all of your purchases.
First verify that the correct auction is being accessed at the appropriate start time. If this has been tried, then try logging out and then logging back in again. If the problem still exists, please call Technical Support at (919) 585-2907 for assistance.
